RAW REMAINS

Color Under Pressure, Images in Decay

In RAW REMAINS, Perishable Rush reveals what remains when the city keeps rewriting itself. The works in this exhibition are built from remnants: torn posters, found street imagery, wood, and layers of graffiti paint that literally fell from walls in Amsterdam, Arnhem, Nijmegen, Berlin, Munich and Cologne. What was once temporary is fixed here, without being tamed.

Familiar icons reappear in new forms. Skulls, Batman, Mickey, and bunny masks emerge not as heroes or symbols, but as traces: damaged, repeated, distorted by time and context. They collide with abstract compositions in which color is not decoration, but residue. Leftover energy from the street.

The exhibition moves between figuration and abstraction, between recognition and noise. It is a raw, unpolished explosion of color and material, in which the city functions as both subject and tool. RAW REMAINS is not nostalgia for street art, but a physical reminder of how images live, wear down, and acquire new meaning.

Welcome to my world

I, Perishable Rush, (Netherlands 1975) am a street artist in the broadest sense of the word. I find my inspiration and materials by having a good look around when I'm outside, always on the lookout for a story that needs be told and how that should be done.

I work on different series of artworks; masks, portraits and skull sculptures. In my masks I focus on visualizing my observations of the world we live in. And in my portraits I pay tribute to characters that inspire me, to gamechangers and innovators.

My skulls are more material oriented and show my passion for paint structures found on our city walls.
